The new Seal UDM-i model by BYD, introduced in the UK, marks BYD's first non-pure-electric vehicle. The model is available in two variants: Boost and Design. Both variants come equipped with an 18.3kWh battery pack capable of being recharged to nearly full capacity in just 35 minutes.
The Boost variant features a 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a single electric motor, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 8.9 seconds. According to BYD, the Boost variant can cover approximately 50 miles on pure electric power alone.
The Design variant, on the other hand, is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre engine that produces 319bhp, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 62mph in just 5.9 seconds. The Design model also includes Mud and Sand drive modes, which optimize the performance of the all-wheel-drive system for challenging terrains.
In terms of features, the Seal U DM-i does not disappoint. Both variants are packed with advanced technology and comfort amenities, including heated and cooled seats, a large rotatable infotainment screen, a head-up display, a premium audio system from Harman's Infinity range, vehicle-to-load functionality, and two wireless charging pads.
The saying "you get what you pay for" is often true, but in the case of the Seal U DM-i, reviews and test drives suggest that the vehicle offers exceptional value for money. This is especially true if you opt for one of AVC's business or personal lease options, making the Seal U DM-i a well-thought-out choice that drives well and offers great value.
